Tis the season to spend money.

Christmas is coming, apparently. Who knew? There is still time for you to give the gift of Monkey pirate Zombie, by buying some swag from our store. I have created a brand new range of Christmas cards for 2011, that you can buy to send to your loved ones. Or your enemies. Or keep them for yourself. Hell, it's none of my business what you do with them after you buy 'em. You can check them out here.

Game On!

And so I return! My computer-related woes turned out to be more complicated (and more wallet-bashingly expensive) than anticipated, which is why I've been gone so long. But crucially my files survived intact so I was able to finish the animation I was working on when my computer went boom. It is the first in a new series. I already have Trailerama for movie based hijinx, but now I am starting a Video Game humour based series, and I'm calling it Arcade Perfect. The first episode deals with the classic video game Metal Gear Solid, and features some fantastic voice acting from returning stars, Lee Tsuruneru and Annabelle Bay

Technical difficulties...

OK folks, so about now I should be publishing a new animation (the first in a new series no less!), however it's going to be delayed, by the apparent death of my faithful computer. (A moments silence please... blub!) My latest work was hours from completion when the machine stopped working. Fortunately I recently did a back up so I haven't lost the whole thing, but it remains to be seen how much work has actually been lost. I hope to get back up and running ASAP, but there will be a delay in the meantime. Please stand by...

Send in the Clown.

Great news for you today: it's only a frickin' brand new animation. Although based on an old animation I did a few years back, this is actually completely new stuff. I  present for your approval: Pickles The Clown:

This animation features marvelous music by an awesome and lovely young lady who goes by the name of Blue (UK readers note: she is nothing to do with the crappy British Boyband of the same name). She writes thoroughly ace music about awesomely geeky things on her equally top notch website Hello, The Future. You should check it out. While your at it you can check out the album Mink Car Cover, a project featuring 19 talented artists (including Blue, who also put together the project) that is being sold to mark the tenth anniversary of 9/11 and raise monkey for the NYFD (new York Fire Dept.) A worthy cause indeed!

Following on from last week's three pics, here is the final picture I produced for my family 'birthday season'. It's pretty simple, but then it is for a four year old. Click to see it bigger. In other news, there is now a mobile version of this news page, so those of you visiting on a phone or mobile device so should now find it easier to navigate.

Today is officially known online as Star Wars Day- It's May the 4th- as in "May the Fourth Be with you". Do you see?? If not, it's OK, you're probably just not a nerd. Maybe You're a girl or something. Well done. Anyhoo, Star wars Day is marked by a new Movie Monkey, based on everybody's favourite space bound rouge pilot.

MPZ comics: The Last Guy on Earth 2011

Believe it or not, MPZ has been going for 7 years as of tomorrow (28th of April) And I want to thank you all for continuing to support this silly little site. To mark the occasion I have produced a comic story much longer than i ahve attempted on the site before. The comics section has largely been limited to single panel cartoons, but this is a veritable epic at 10 pages. Hopefully this will be the first of many 'proper' comics that I will bring to the site. I used to produce comics all the time, but I pretty much dropped them when I stated to make animations. Since then I have been meaning to get back in to it, but somehow have never quite managed it.  Until now.  I have also reuploaded a bunch of comics I drew last year which you can see in the posts below this one.

What is this comic thing then? It is adapted from and old script I wrote that has already been made into this animation. I'm pretty pleased with the result. Click the image below to start reading from the beginning.  A word of warning, some of the content may be slightly Not Safe For Work.  Let me know what you think

In the works..

I'm pleased to say, a  new animation is now in production folks! A few details: firstly, it is not a Trailerama episode. Secondly, I am collaborating with a very talented and awesome individual! I am not entirely sure when it will be ready but consider yourself teased. A new run of episodes of Trailerama is planned for some time this spring. Other things are brewing too, keep 'em peeled!

Mid March Update

Just checking in to let you know that things are occurring behind the scenes, that will come to fruition soon or at least soon ish, so thanks for hanging in there. Watch this space!

In more serious news, if like me you've been moved by the awful, heart-breaking events in Japan over the last week and are able to make a donation then this link may come in handy, featuring a list of organizations around the world you can donate to.  My thoughts are with the Japanese people at this difficult time. If any of our readers are in that part of the world, I sincerely hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.

Brand spanking new toon time!

I am pleased to announce my latest, brand spanking new Trailerama episode is now available.

Watch/ Download  here

I'm very pleased with the results thanks to having a quite fantastic voice cast. There is another fine performance by Lee "Shadowken" Tsuruneru as the voice over guy. Not only that but there is a sublime turn by Annabelle Bay (who played Gisella in Lovebytes) who does a spot-on English accent. Two new additions round out the cast the very talented Scott Stoked and Eddie "Eddache" Bowley (who is a hilarious cartoonist and animator in his own right). I can't thank these guys enough, so check out the animation to hear their work! Oh and see my animation too I guess!!

The return of and old friend

My Movie Parody series Trailerama now has it's own site and it's own podcast feed, so you can subscribe to it via itunes (or similar software). I will be adding one of the episodes every week, until I have caught up (by which time the new episode should be ready. I know if you;re reading this you have probably already seen the first 4 episodes, but my plan is to introduce it to a fresh audience. That said it would still be helpful if you would all subscribe! It should be available in the itunes store shortly.

Happy New Year!!

A very happy new yarrr to all of you out there in Interweb Land! Hope you've all had good seasonal celebrations (for those who celebrate them). I am truly grateful for all those of you have stuck with me through a year when I haven't always been that productive. 2010 was a year that wasn't the best for me in the real world so that had a knock-on effect on the site. Must Try Harder. Plans for this year are not set in stone, but I have high hopes that this will be a good year here at MPZ Towers. What new wonders do I have  in store? You'll just have to watch this space.....
